You had no idea when you first reached the top of those 95 steps what this place would mean to you. You just wanted a job in radio. You followed the signs to an Open Meeting, or you followed a friend to a shift, or you followed the sounds of college radio, knowing you'd find your niche behind a microphone. Whatever brought you up those stairs, you came. And you stayed. You endured technical difficulties, misfiled records, lost keys, temperamental co-workers, crazy requests, meetings that went on way too long, and still you stayed.

You were rewarded last year with an elevator. What a gift! Only, you'll be leaving before those renovations are completed. You see, you're graduating. It happens to the best of us. The hard part is, you don't just leave UGA, you leave the station. And whatever your weekly (or daily) experience has been on the 5th floor, it'll begin to change once you leave. It'll become highlights, memories, what-was-that-kid's-last-name type of thoughts. And you'll wonder what's going to happen a few years from now when you return to the 5th floor for a visit. You're who? You did what here? Oh well, come see our new snack bar and Jacuzzi. Ok, maybe not. Still, when you come back, you may feel that your time here didn't even make an impact on the way things will have become.

Let me assure you; you are a part of something really special. Your personality has helped shape 90.5FM in some way. Each year the station grows due to those of you who put your hearts into everything you do up here. You may not see it now - you may not see it when you come back to visit - but by being a part of WUOG, you've contributed to its personality. Don't ever feel that any one of you is unappreciated. That big place that the station occupies in your soul - there's one just as big in the soul of 90.5FM that belongs to each and every one of you.
